Het volgt een groep vrienden die zich verbonden voelen door hun strijd tegen armoede, hiv\/aids en de gevolgen van de moderne samenleving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Roger<\/strong><br>Roger is een muzikant en songwriter die probeert een nummer te schrijven over zijn ervaringen en zijn verlangen om iets te betekenen in de wereld. Hij worstelt met de dood van zijn vriendin, die aan aids is overleden, en zijn eigen diagnose van hiv. Zijn grote wens is om een nummer te schrijven dat de wereld zal veranderen. Hij ontmoet&nbsp;<strong>Mimi<\/strong>&nbsp;en wordt verliefd op haar, maar zijn angsten over zijn ziekte en de vergankelijkheid van het leven staan hun relatie in de weg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mimi<\/strong><br>Mimi is een jonge danseres die werkt in een club en een geheime relatie heeft met Roger. Ze is ook hiv-positief en heeft moeite om haar ziekte en haar levensstijl te combineren. Ze verlangt naar een beter leven, maar worstelt met een verslaving aan drugs. Haar relatie met Roger is intens, maar de onzekerheid van hun toekomst maakt het ingewikkeld. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mark<\/strong><br>Mark is een jonge filmmaker die probeert zijn passie te volgen, ondanks de economische en persoonlijke uitdagingen die hij tegenkomt. Hij is de verteller van het verhaal en wordt vaak gezien als de observerende en neutrale figuur, die probeert zijn leven en de mensen om hem heen vast te leggen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Maureen<\/strong><br>Maureen is een artistieke, excentrieke vrouw die een relatie heeft gehad met Mark, maar op het moment van het verhaal een nieuwe relatie heeft met&nbsp;<strong>Joanne<\/strong>, een gedegenereerde maar succesvolle zakenvrouw. Haar dramatische en flamboyante persoonlijkheid komt tot uiting in haar optredens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Joanne<\/strong><br>Joanne is een slimme en succesvolle vrouw die probeert haar relatie met Maureen in balans te brengen. Ze worstelt met haar eigen gevoelens van onzekerheid en haar verlangen om Maureen volledig te begrijpen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Angel<\/strong><br>Angel is een transgendervrouw en straatmuzikant die een positieve invloed heeft op de groep. Angel is vrolijk, zorgzaam en altijd bereid om anderen te helpen, ondanks haar eigen worstelingen. Haar relatie met&nbsp;<strong>Collins<\/strong>, een andere muzikant en vriend van de groep, is een van de sterkste en mooiste aspecten van het verhaal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Collins<\/strong><br>Collins is een andere muzikant, en de partner van Angel.
